Web Site Use Statement
The Green Nut™ and TheGreenNut.org is a nutrition awareness campaign sponsored by the Western Pistachio Association (WPA). Based in Fresno, California, the WPA is a voluntary association representing pistachio growers throughout the country. Founded in 1980, it is the only voluntary organization representing U.S. pistachio growers' interests. It is governed by an 18 member board elected from a variety of states with the shared goal of increasing national awareness about the nutritional benefits of U.S. grown pistachios.
Privacy Policy
Our policy is designed to enhance our services to our visitors. In order to do so, our Web server recognizes and records certain non-personal information about visitors, such as browser, Internet service provider and type of operating system. This information is only used for internal review purposes on an aggregate, non-personally identifiable basis.
We do collect the email addresses of those who communicate with us via email and personal information volunteered by you, such as survey information and/or site registrations. The information we collect is for internal review only for the purposes of bettering the Web site and is never given to other parties. This information is only disclosed when legally required to do so, at the request of governmental authorities conducting an investigation, when it is required by law or for the protection of our legal rights.
User Consent
By using our Web site, you consent to our collection and use of your personal and non-personal information, as described in this Privacy Policy. If we change our privacy policies and procedures, we will post those changes on our Web site to keep you aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we may disclose it.

We use cookies to store visitors' preferences; record session information; record user-specific information on what sites users access or visit; alert visitors to new areas that we think might be of interest to them when they return to our Web site; record past activity at a site in order to provide better service when visitors return to our Web site; minimize duplicative banner ads; customize Web site content based on visitors' browser type or other information that the visitor sends.
Ad Servers
At this time, we do not partner with or have special relationships with any ad server companies.
Security
We utilize encryption/security software to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information we collect from unauthorized access or disclosure and accidental loss, alteration or destruction. Our corporate values, ethical standards, policies and practices are committed to the protection of user information. Upon request we offer visitors the ability to have inaccuracies corrected in contact information and communications that the user/visitor has directed to the Web site. Users can have this information corrected by sending us an email at the above address.
Additional Communication
In addition to providing and collecting information, as noted above, if you choose to correspond further with us through email, we may retain your email address, messages and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received by mail and telephone. We will only contact you in the form in which you request.

Often links to other sites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of our Web site.
